This photograph was taken October 2012. This is of old pier remnants of a pier that burned in 1977. The first Charleston, SC pier was built in 1931 and burned in 1957 and this pier was built shortly after to replace it. The Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier aka Folly Beach Pier now stands on down the shoreline. There were little birds dancing about on these old pier remnants and the waves were crashing and I just found it rustic and enchanting.

I have been an artist as long as I can remember. My specialty is pastel portraits, although I also paint in oils. I bought a camera in 2011 to capture images to paint from and fell in love with photography. Taking photos has become a passion on its own. I am originally from Georgia but moved to High Country NC in 2016. I live just a few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway and love taking mountain pictures. I take my camera and ride to explore new places and photograph everything in sight. I am like a child and get excited about a mountain view or sometimes just a flower blooming.
